Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Limit:
- Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years
- Stenographer Grade D: 18 to 27 years
- Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government norms.
- Educational Qualification:
- The candidate must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized
board or university.
- Other: Candidates should have proficiency in stenography
(shorthand) in Hindi or English.
Exam Pattern:
- Duration: 2 hours
- Computer-Based Examination:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions, 50 marks)
- General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks)
- English Language and Comprehension (100 questions, 100 marks)
- Mark: 1 for each correct answer
- Negative marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer
Those who are shortlisted after the Computer based examination there will be a skill test.
Skill Test:
- Stenography Skill Test: Candidates are required to transcribe the dictated passage in the
given time. The time and word limit differ for Hindi and English:
- Stenographer Grade C: 10 minutes for dictation of 100 words per minute (English) or
80 words per minute (Hindi).
- Stenographer Grade D: 10 minutes for dictation of 80 words per minute (English) or
50 words per minute (Hindi).
